Morning brief: a situation report every morning
One glance at the phone over the first coffee replaces opening five programs.
Request: „Morning brief.“
- At 05:00 collect deterministically: appointments, deadline radar, overdue items, routines due.
- The AI prioritises the day's top three from it.
- Serve it as a dashboard page on the private network, readable from the iPhone.
- On Fridays the weekly review takes over — and clears duplicates and stale entries as it goes.
Open calendar, task lists, deadlines and e-mails one by one and piece them together mentally.
Deciding what actually gets done today.
The brief arrived at 07:40 instead of 05:40 — a time-zone bug in the scheduler, fixed by switching to systemd timers.
A situation report is assembled deterministically from the systems; the AI only adds the prioritisation on top — which keeps it auditable.
Every morning at five a script collects appointments, deadlines, overdue items and routines due; the AI turns them into the day's top three. The result sits as a dashboard page on my private network, readable from the phone. The core is deliberately deterministic — only the prioritisation is AI. On Fridays the weekly review takes over and clears duplicates and stale entries as it goes. Honestly: I never measured the minutes saved per morning — what is documented is that I no longer open five programs.
